Test
The Music Apperception Test (MAT) builds upon four decades of research and experience with normal and clinical populations.
The Standard Test consists of twelve brief compositions designed to convey
emotions that range from joy to anger to despair. Prerecorded instructions
inform respondents to tell stories to the music. The Standard MAT takes
approximately 21 minutes to administer with norms for Children, adolescents, and
adults. Respondents display dramatic individual differences in latencies,
fluency, pace of speech, content, cognitive style, dispositional mood, and
